About
Revive is a specialised professional development program that in 2022 supported 10 x mid to established business-owner artist managers (each with 5+ years working as an artist manager) to set clear strategic goals for their businesses and artists, as they rebuilt and reset post-pandemic. As the music industry entered this recovery phase, professional skills development, creative and financial resilience and adaptability were fundamental to regaining stability.
This program was delivered by Compton School, who worked alongside the AAM in developing the program format and materials. Compton’s curriculum is purpose-built for the creative industries and covers leadership, finance, structures, strategy and decision-making.
Revive ran online over 1 full day, comprising short lectures, exercises, feedback and discussion led by Compton founder David Court. Participants developed a personal business plan including a 'to do' list of tasks focusing on self-management, professional development and business planning.
Each participant received a $500 bursary to support the implementation of their business plan.
4-6 weeks after the workshop/s David met with each participant for a follow-up check-in, where participants reported on their progress and reflected on next steps.
